Joe O'Brien Abington School Board Candidate

I decided to run for School Board Director due to a number of reasons:

1. The School Boad Directors will not answer any questions at the meetings
2. Abington Schools Ranking has dropped dramatically over the last 20 years.
4. The School Board hired a PAVING company to fix the roof in the new area
  of the high school and it still leaks.
5. The Tax Rate will skyrocket with the new building.

We need Common Sense back in the School Board

I have been a resident of Abington for 44 years.

I have been programming computers since 1969 (with a teletype and paper tape at 300 baud).
I started my own business, a Computer Consulting company in 1988.
I have programmed Financial Systems, the first Insurance Company software for
agents to use on their own PC’s for quoting policies, Websites,
and a great number of other systems.

I have been studying Robots for over 20 years, and I’m in the process of automating my
Snowblower so it will run itself and clean the driveway for me.

I am also a Musician who runs Open Mics and I have a band the plays on certain occasions.

The current School Board seems to think they don’t have to answer to the Tax payers and treats Tax Payers like a cash machine.

I want to change all that.

1. I WILL answer questions at the School Board Meetings. If I don’t know the answer I will
research the question and get back the questioner as soon as I have an answer.

2. The School Board works for the Tax Payer, and should be transparent about their work.

3. I will audit the full books of the School Board and the School Budget. If I find something
wrong I will let the public know.

4. Robotics, Programming, and Music are three things that can reduce the violence we have
been seeing in our schools, and we must stop this violence immediately.

5. We must make sure the Basics of Education are our focus.

Our three goals if we are elected to the School Board are:
1) Transparency
2) Financial Responsibility
3) Making Abington the best school in Montgomery County.

Our focus is providing the best education for our kids and the best value for Abington and Rockledge Taxpayers
